Concert season is once upon me. Tonight I am enjoying the live ABC Classic broadcast of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra's free Sidney Myer Music Bowl Symphonic Celebration. Leonard Weiss is conducting a programme. Before Innerval, we had 2 Australian works: Andrew Aronowicz's new Fanfare world premiere and Holly Harrison's Hellbent with trumpet soloist Owen Morris. This was followed by the ever-popular Peer Gynt Suite by Grieg. The concert will end with Beethoven's Symphony No.5.
My concert experiences will continue on Saturday, 14 February, 5pm with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra's Baroque Masters at Melbourne Recital Centre. Paul Dyer leads Handel Concerto Grosso Op.6 No.1, Bach Brandenburg Concertos Nos. 3 and 4, Pachelbel Canon in D, and Vivaldi La Folia.
My daughter visited last night, where we enjoyed breakfast for dinner: scrambled eggs, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, and chips.
