@indivisiblemichigan it’s my favorite National Park (but don’t tell the other ones that 😉). If you’re able, I’d recommend taking a seaplane. Isle Royale Seaplanes we’re amazing. Great aerial views of the island as you approach and the trip was 30 minutes instead of 6 hours by ferry

Isle Royale National Park in Lake Superior is made up of hundreds of islands. The main island is relatively underdeveloped with only 2 areas (Rock Harbor and Windigo) that have been built for visitors. On this remote island (accessible by long ferry ride or short seaplane ride), you can find moose and wolves; although the wolves are notoriously hard to spot. This is one of the least visited National Parks in the U.S. #IsleRoyale #NationalPark #Michigan #LakeSuperior #AmericaTheBeautiful

Gorgeous JWST image of the Pillars of Creation, taken with the Mid-Infra Red Instrument.
Credit: NASA, ESA, CSA, STScI

From NASA’s Flickr page: Three prominent pillars of semi-opaque gas and dust, each in spectral shades of gray-blue, start at the bottom left and reach toward the top right. From left to right, each pillar is consecutively smaller. Together, they appear like a ghostly hand. Towards the top of the leftmost pillar, there is one prominent red star, with tiny spikes at its tip. Lower on this pillar, there are several darker areas of dust that jut out like protrusions, some also with stars that appear as small red dots. The other two pillars are below and to the right of the first pillar. The background of this scene takes on glowing shades of orange-red mixed with black, with the strongest bright orange hues dipping into a V shape at the top center of the image. Scattered throughout the image are a few dozen tiny bright white and blue stars. Larger stars appear like red orbs and are embedded in the pillars.

I find myself not very excited to share things lately, but need to get over the Twitter-depression hump and get back in there. Here's a butt orange from my backyard.

Why city planning needs diverse perspectives.

Touring possible commuter cycling routes.

What I saw - Smooth pavement. Separate from traffic. Shade. Not too busy. Perfect.

What my female partner saw - Blind corners. No lighting. No escape routes. Too few users. Wouldn’t use this route.

The Painted Desert in Peteified Forest National Park. The beautiful formations date back to the Triassic period as erosion sculpted the colorful layers of limestone, mudstone, and volcanic ash you see #NationalParks #PetrifiedForest #Painteddesert #AmericaTheBeautiful
