I just discovered that Isaac Asimov is holding either an Atari 520ST or Mega ST keyboard in this artwork. It's slightly altered but the keyboard layout makes it definitively Atari ST, with the L-shaped enter and the keys to the right of it, as well as the Help and Undo keys above the cursor keys. There's no chance an Atari ST wasn't used as reference here.

Well after much screwing around to get it right, I now have my 15KHz JVC RGB CRT monitor working as a second display for my M1 Mac Mini. It only took a USB-C to VGA adapter, Extron VSC 500 scan converter, and BetterDisplay. Worth it.

My first serious personal project was about 10 years ago when I wrote this video codec for the Apple II, which played short looping animations converted from animated gifs. You load em off of a standard 5.25” 140k floppy!

@ErinInTheMorn It really is time for everyone to let go of Twitter. We don't need it. Once Tony Stank bought it, it was doomed to become the next Gab. I am loving Mastodon more than I ever cared for Twitter anyway. There's still a lot of resistance by some people to sign up here for some reason, but hopefully we've reached a tipping point now.

@DPellegrino @thejoyofsticks It's very unfortunate if your state has it banned, there is nothing that works as well for ABS. I have moved around and lived both in states where you couldn't get it and ones where you could. The first time I bought it was at Home Depot, but now they don't carry it even in states where it is perfectly legal. I've had to buy it online since then.

I usually use it outside, the easiest ventilation. It's harsh toxic stuff, but I haven't had any issues with it.

You can also sometimes find small cans of a liquid ABS/MEK mixture. That stuff is awesome for filling cracks that are actually missing plastic. But I've only seen it come in a couple colors, mostly black. Now I am saving some shattered pieces of a partial ST case in case I need to melt it down to use on another one.
