It was very much a monolith of its time; and in a sense it still is -- a time capsule from a forgotten era, despite the incessant attempts to bathe it in fresh coats of lead-based paint and toxic varnish

To be honest, it's current dereliction does kind of add to this feeling

Like islands of monumental debris preserved by the unrelenting sands and storms of a desert that has been, for as long as collective memory serves, nothing but a desert

There was a quaintness to it

Not unlike a sleepy little town, whose homes were spread far apart but, somehow, it's people weren't

A kind of coziness that comes with rolling hills and the nestling of paths and familial abodes in weird little corners of foliage and carpets of lush green and fresh air

A sense of yearning, a homesick sweetness; nostalgia for the present moment

Needless to say, I miss that shit

iirc, one of the first signs of fruit flies and demise was the forest fire of fake awards and spammy comments ringing out in the dark of WP's dusk

It's a quasi-satellite = asteroid in a 1:1 mean-motion resonance with Venus. It only looks like a satellite if you plot its position over many orbits relative to Venus. Earth has lots of these that have been discovered!

I've grown up alongside the #interwebz and drenched myself in the various stages, waves, and phases of its evolution. As a consequence, my interests are similarly scattered and all-encompassing. But mostly I like patterns: from the cognitive to the pixelated.

Yeah I wonder about that too most days. All days, really. And yet, life goes on (or simulates the process of going on well enough that it is easy to believe and/or concede to).

I recently added myself of #FediFans

And since I'm lazy, I'm always looking for clever solutions. And since, I'm always looking for clever solutions, I realised I could solve the problem of never having included my interests in my bio by copying over the interest-tags I'd added on FediFans and pinning the post.

I'd never articulated all my interests before since I'd always figured they were too scattered and sprawling and inconsistent (across time and space).
