I’ve said it before, but my biggest pet peeve and #1 way to make me dismiss your complaints is saying that we—open source software developers—don’t care. I’m not a billion dollar corporation. I’m not even a million dollar corporation. Most years I’m not even a $100k corporation. The *only* reason I do this at all is because I care.

@garrett So much this! I have this quite regularly in the issues of my projects, and it's always annoying me on so many levels.

Reminder that nobody should be using "mom" or "grandma" or "girlfriend" as a generic non-technical person example. It is hugely problematic and sexist (and can even be ageist too for "grandma").

This is *especially* important to keep in mind in communities where there's already a huge bias of boys and men (like FOSS, gaming, and tech in general).

@alatiera my #1 request is for FOSS podcasters/bloggers/YouTubers/etc to reach out and ask questions. There’s usually someone knowledgeable who can at the very least answer an email and would probably be more than happy to be a guest. I get it’s not free from a production standpoint, but it’s the responsible thing to do and it will make your content better and more trustworthy

@jangernert I intentionally decided against both names since both names do not really describe the syndrome. But in lack of a better name, the shorthand ME/CFS is commonly used. But I can see how this can be confusing :)
