Ik wil bij deze graag een lans breken voor de knolselderij-/spruitjesstamppot.

#nirvana never got to me. Smells like was always on TV. But the music didn’t attract me. It was supposed to be great, progressive and edgy, but I found it bland and stereotypical. I was a young adolescent, what did I know? But that's what I thought. To me it was typical music of the time. Little musical content, with limp chords and flat rhythms. It represented for me the same thing it was opposed to.I always thought music should bring something more universal. #grunge

#nirvana is totaal aan mij voorbij gegaan. Smells like was altijd op tv. Maar ik trok de muziek niet. Het zou geweldig zijn, vooruitstrevend en edgy, maar ik vond het slap en aanstellerig. Ik was een jonge puber, wat wist er van? Maar dat vond ik. Het was voor mij typische muziek van die tijd. Weinig muzikale inhoud, met slappe akkoorden en platte ritmes. Het vertegenwoordigde voor mij hetzelfde als waar het zich tegen afzette.Ik vond altijd al dat muziek iets universelers moest brengen. #grunge

With my new group PEAX I found a way to make my own music without being concerned about what style it should fit in: it is everything we ever played and heard in our 25+ years of being a pro musician. It took me four years of cancer and treatments and two years of Coron, but in the end it is a blessing in disguise.

Eens met @SanderS #jinek: “mensen stemmen rechts omdat ze denken: dan word ik misschien ook wel rijk. Maar we hebben juist een sterk verhaal over collectiviteit en solidariteit nodig, dat heeft links laten liggen”.

Het lijkt me zo evident dat belasting op vermogen omhoog moet, gezien toenemende ongelijkheid, en op arbeid omlaag, ook gezien personeelstekorten (en op goederen/spullen omhoog, gezien uitputting vd aarde). Waarom stemmen mensen met lage inkomens op partijen die dit níet regelen?

Bravo @SanderS bij #evajinek ! Hopelijk krijgt dit snel gevolg. Kinderen worden te snel afgerekend op hun sociale status in het Nederlandse schoolsysteem.

@HannahCelsius ik heb al vaak bij ze geklaagd dat het heel duur is idd. En ze hebben het verhoogd na Corona terwijl we alleen maar minder geld kregen.

@mcmullin same here. But even the corny tunes I’ve come to appreciate in a year’s time oddly enough.

@mcmullin literally the layering he does in his compositions. Like on ‘music of my mind’: not only percussion, sample-like sounds, or multiple clavinets and combined drum parts on ‘songs in the key of life’, etc. Everything complements each other. and the thing is, if you hear those separately (google garage band files of Stevie wonder) they don’t sound that good indicidually but sound amazing together.

@mcmullin limitation is key I have found. Which is not a rule btw. I tend to consciously fill up my pieces with multiple layers. When I found out that that was possible (credits to stevie wonder !) a whole new world opened to me.

@mcmullin and those ‘rules’ are only to get the creative juices flowing i imagine!?
