In the olden days of Open Source and Free Software, bug reports would come as a fix attached to a problem description. Just sending a bug report and demanding a fix was seen as lazy and wrong.

Yesterday our local hackerspace and CCC community c3d2 <<</>> celebrated their 20th anniversary. It's so good to see how this space stayed maintained throughout so many years and became a welcoming home to all creatures. Kudos to everyone involved!

Vom Veggie-Burger bis zur Tofuwurst: Im Jahr 2024 wurden hierzulande 126 500 Tonnen #Fleischersatz-Produkte hergestellt. Das waren rein rechnerisch 1,5 Kilo pro Kopf. Gegenüber 2019 hat sich die Produktion mehr als verdoppelt (+109,5 %). Damals wurden 60 400 Tonnen Fleischersatzprodukte hergestellt. Der Wert der Fleischproduktion war 2024 jedoch knapp 70-mal höher als der von Fleischersatzprodukten. I wrote a book on Linux Memory Management, published by @nostarch - it's a comprehensive 1300 page exploration of Linux 6.0's memory management code, depth-first, diving into the code and REALLY explaining how things work.
The idea is to avoid hand waving as much as possible and literally explore what the kernel _actually_ does.
It's full of diagrams and careful explanations of logic including a ton of stuff you just can't find anywhere else.
It's currently available in its entirety in draft form via early access when you pre-order.
