(3/4) involves risk, and we all must weigh those risks.

Our children & grandchildren deserve a better political culture and a better government than we have today in the USA. Human rights, Representative democracy, and religious tolerance are some of the values I'll be standing up for on October 18th. Find and get involved with your local chapter of "Indivisible."

(2/4) members of our military & military retirees have some limits and restrictions on what they can say and do in terms of peaceful, non-violent public protest: As civilians, we do not.

Citizenship in the USA confers both rights and responsibilities upon us all. Standing up for the values we believe in and making our voices heard together is important, and this is a critical time.

Participating in a protest today in mid-October 2025 is an act of courage. It is an act which

A Halloween-themed graphic titled “Spooky Scratch Stories.” The words “Spooky Scratch Stories” appear in large, jagged orange letters with a purple shadow effect, giving a spooky, playful vibe. The Scratch cat mascot is centered between the words, appearing cheerful and energetic. Behind the text are faded Halloween icons, including a witch flying on a broom, a purple witch hat, a zombie, a mirror, a pumpkin, a jack-o’-lantern, and an old man illustration. The overall design has a festive, lighthearted Halloween feel, combining coding fun with spooky storytelling.

It does make me appreciate being able to both cook and share my own backyard barbecue Texas style brisket. however!

Check out my YouTube smoked brisket BBQ video from a couple years ago. I think the fact I used the name “Aaron Franklin” in the title accounts for most of these views.

(1/4) Confession time: On a 1 to 10 scale of “brisket snobbishness,” I’m now easily clocking in at a 9 or 10.

On the good side, this “Cousins BBQ” brisket sandwich (pictured) was delicious. Tender, perfectly rendered fat, moist and smoky. Yummy barbecue sauce. Texas style brisket, just the way I like it.

On the bad side, it seems a bit ridiculous that this small quantity of brisket costs almost $17 at the DFW airport.

I am not complaining, however. I’m glad to have both the means and the

I also shared about this webinar on #VibeCoding on my blog tonight:

A four-panel comic-style illustration showing a woman using technology and AI for creative collaboration.
In the first panel, she works at her laptop with a glowing light bulb symbol, raising one finger as if she has an idea.
In the second, she converses with a friendly robot face displayed on her monitor, exchanging chat bubbles.
In the third, she types thoughtfully, with lines of code visible on her screen.
In the final panel, she smiles at her monitor, where two people appear giving enthusiastic thumbs-up gestures. The scene conveys curiosity, learning, and teamwork through technology and artificial intelligence.
