It is more likely she just had an allergic reaction to something, but if you told me these paragons of meritocracy had cut corners on safety protocols because they thought they were being ninnies or whatever, I'd be minimally shocked.
I think I would have a ball writing a kid's book about an alien that crash-lands in a kid's yard and wants to destroy the planet, but gets derailed by the kid and then develops a sense for the planet's pathos and... fuck it's just Lilo and Stitch.
@HG I don't know that you have to overthink the content too much. Spending time with them talking about historical issues, encouraging them to ask probing questions and generally getting interested in how one thinks and talks about history will take them far, it'll also help develop a sense of media literacy.
Maybe start with local places of historical interest, monuments, and museums, find places where those local histories tie into larger themes?
