If anyone is remotely interested in the new Intel CPU's released yesterday then don't panic about having to upgrade, especially if your focus is gaming.

The Core Ultra 285K is better is some non-gaming workloads and does show lower power consumption but the platform is not ready for serious work. There are better gaming platforms and the best value for that remains the AMD AM5 platform with the 7800X3D CPU.

Wait for the AM5 9800X3D test results though before any new purchases.
