(#ACEP gets a glowing review)
"The lessons learned in Alaska are perhaps most relevant to Africa, the Asia Pacific and Latin America, places where traditional utility grid networks are limited.

From logistical challenges due to lack of roads to the need for appropriately scaled technologies that can be managed by local labor, Alaska remains a testing ground for new innovative technologies. If it can work in , it can work anywhere."

Do you want to you be cared for by an NP (<1K hrs training) or an ED doc(10-16K hrs)?

A 3-year study documents worse outcomes & higher costs with NPs. Accdg to the paper, in 44 VA EDs, "we find that, on avg, NPs use more resources but achieve worse patient outcomes relative to MDs."

In fact, NPs, caring for pts w/o MD supervision, raised⬆️30-day preventable hospitalizations by 20%‼️vs ED docs. Hospital administrators pls take note!
