I see the phrase "cognitive architecture" is starting to get a lot of attention again. This *could* be a good thing, but be wary of people who are just using it as a marketing buzzword.
If somebody starts talking to you about "cognitive architectures" ask them about #ACTR, #SOAR, #CLARION,, etc. and then ask them about the contributions of Alan Newell, John R. Anderson, Cliff Shaw, Herbert Simon, Ron Sun, John Laird, If you get a blank stare, you might want to direct your attention elsewhere.
