Today I started making my boss a list of all of the stuff I say regularly so that when I’m not there every day and just an adjunct, I will still be there every day in the form of note cards living on the knick-knack shelf he has made of all of the stuff I’ve brought him back from my musician travels.
First on the list of often said Jack lines: “I can see the utility in (blank), but I choose not to utilize (blank)”

Unsolicited advice for academics or others wanting to expand their thinking:
Of course your results may vary, but reading two non-fiction books on two very different subjects at the same time (not literally simultaneously, like one chapter of each per day or whatever) sometimes seems to make my brain draw all kinds of higher order connections between even unrelated third things that go beyond what is explicitly in either text. Its kind of exhilarating!

So I wonder : how many active scientists (lets say having published one peer-reviewed paper in the last five years) are on mastodon from the different EU countries ?
