When it was published in 1972, "The Joy of Sex" was the first mass-market book to offer a playful and pleasure-centered approach to sexual education. The text was enormously successful, eventually making its way into twelve million homes. In a new book, "Polymath: The Life and Professions of Dr. Alex Comfort, Author of The Joy of Sex," Eric Laursen tells the story of the iconic sex manual's eccentric author, a British physician and wide-ranging intellectual who passionately espoused anarchism, pacifism, and civil disobedience.

Later this month we'll be discussing the life of Alex Comfort with biographer Eric Laursen and @margaret Killjoy, host of the "Cool People Who Did Cool Stuff" podcast. Register for free and grab the book at firestorm.coop/events/3108-the. Not sure if you can make the event? Sign up anyway and you'll receive a link to the recorded conversation when we post it!
