Are #antibias trainings just teaching us to be ashamed of our biases to the point we shove them away and get better at pretending we aren’t influenced by our experiences? #Bias is HUMAN. We must be critical of our biases, and we can’t do that if we can never examine them in the light.

American public schools are using words like "#belonging" to describe #equity, #antibias, and #antiracism efforts. Is this better? Are we just hiding from the "scary" words? Are we trying to find new language to replace the language that's been co-opted (but also setting ourselves up for "belonging" to be stolen from us, too)?
