#GIMP - the venerable image editor, had promised a major makeover with with non-destructive editing (with #GEGL) and advanced color space management (with #babl). That was more than 20 years ago!
While GEGL and babl were partially integrated with GIMP 2.x over the years, the full integration was left for GIMP 3.0. And now, it looks like v3.0 will finally be released in a few months!
Announcement for packagers of #babl (the color conversion engine by the #GIMP project: https://gegl.org/babl/): babl 0.1.104 just got released!
Thanks to @pippin for the awesome work, as usual.

What then gets annoying is when, suddenly, someone decides configure; make; make install is no longer good enough and you have to work out how to use meson and ninja to build something that worked perfectly before!:*
Looking at you #babl (and soon #gegl), and then eventually #Gimp , apparently!:*
Been quiet on Mastodon recently. I mean personally, obviously. It has been anything but quiet, what with the recent discourse, in the Fediverse itself. I've just been lurking, while playing with #Digikam
In other news, sorted out my clones of #Gimp , #GEGL , and #BABL so they now pull from the #GNOME #Gitlab repos.
I've also been pre-booked to fetch the older great-nieces from school later in the year, to take the pressure off their mother who will be having a 'caesarian' on a certain day.
I'd really like to be able to clone the #pangocairo repo locally and build it in the same way I do with #babl & #gegl
If anyone has any thoughts on GOBJECT_INTROSPECTION checks, which is what the autogen.sh fails on, I'd be interested to hear them (:*
