@SteveInVentura In my testing recently, my rented #BMWi4 was capable of adding 100 miles in 10 minutes, which is better than this graph.

I only had it for three days, so I cannot comment in more detail, but it could certainly charge faster than what is shown, and did.

@SteveInVentura Yes, this is 100% correct, and was explained to me by a BMW salesperson last year.

It also explains (in part) why BMW have been so successful with the i4 EV. It’s available on lease for $500 a month, which is not much for that category of vehicle.

The rest of the explanation is that you can get into a #BMWi4 and feel totally at home as an ICE driver. No minimalist interior. No absence of stalk controls for turn signals etc. No absence of driver side display etc.

@serichards from my limited experience with both #Chargemap and #ABRP apps, I would like to be able to pick waypoints with chargers myself, like adding a waypoint to a navigation app, not just let the app pick one based on the intended charge % upon arrival at one’s destination. Maybe this exists already?

I didn’t really have time to play much with #BMWi4 navigation, but I expect the advantage of that would be preparing the car and battery for the intended charge location chosen.

Would I buy a #BMWi4 after this?

No.

Very competent. Doesn’t feel like a BMW IMH(fbw)O*. Too heavy.

The #BMWi3 feels much more like a BMW. Nimble and sprightly.

Once inside, the rear view is like a cave for cave trolls. I’m not a cave troll. Very dark, and huge rear pillars. One has to rely on the cameras a lot, but for overtaking or lane changing, glancing over one’s shoulder is insufficient for carefree maneuvers.

Charging overnight for 2 nights was in a tiny village in the Pyrénées mountains. There were four #Révéo charging spaces in the village.

The vehicle would accept 11 kWh from these chargers.

Again, a QR code was used do pay with Apple Pay.

Spaces were at a premium because of market day, which meant the EV spaces helped me find parking when ICE parking was challenging, although one ICE van blocked a space for three days non stop. 🤷‍♂️

Charging ⚡️ the first night could not be achieved.

Next day, on the freeway, I stopped for ☕️… 28 minutes later, the 🔋 was at 💯%. No EV induced waiting at all.

The next charging stop later that day was just 10 minutes. Super fast. We couldn’t stay longer as we were expected for dinner.

Both these stops allowed me to scan a QR code and pay with Apple Pay.

I see no reason to stop for more than 10-30 minutes on freeways with 205 kWh charging capability.

My whirlwind tour of 🇫🇷 and 🇮🇪 has concluded, and I have a lot to report… 😑

Let’s start with the EV. I got a special deal from #Sixt. Not especially cheap, but not expensive either.

TLDR: it went very, very well, with only a couple of hiccups.

My trusty steed? A BMW i4 eDrive 40.

I will have good things, and bad things to share about this automobile.

I know I didn’t park well. I was tired. 9H time difference + jet lag induced incompetence.

@ukuku see the #EQE #EV in my neighborhood regularly, and the #EQS.

Beautiful interiors, but dislike the blob styling and front end especially.

Prefer the #BMWi4, which is keenly priced, especially for leasing, but many hate that because of the new grille design. 🤷‍♂️
