So, who has the better eyeshadow game: B*Witched, or Michael Stipe?
It's a really weird presentation: a soft and lilting love song, performed by young women in baggy jeans and thick coats. Only in 1998...
"Rollercoaster" - B*Witched
B*Witched made pop music for tweens, the kids who would spend their pocket money on a bag of sweets and a CD single and they dance around their room all weekend on the sugar rush.
B*Witched also made great pop music, with enough in it to entertain parents.
A quarter of a century later, both generations get the glow of nostalgia when we hear crackers like this one.
You are not up to date, sir. There are in the grown-up version. A distinct pointing gesture.

Great interview with Lindsay Armaou of B*Witched, talking an hour long about fame, becoming a pop band, image, the hectic schedules, breaking America, being dropped by the label and then starting up again and now decades later still going on. I have been and still am such a huge fan of hers, since before their first single was even scheduled for a release and I was afraid after that first time I saw them I would never hear from them again. Then their first four singles each entered the charts at number one and they became a record smashing (not literally) band.

Day 21: C'est La Vie - B*Witched
Just been watching #Gogglebox on +1 which finished with B*Witched singing C'est La Vie and doing some dancing. That reminded me that when I was considerably younger than I am now I was given the chance to sign up for Irish Dancing lessons. I turned it down. Yes, that's right, I could've been Michael Flatley, only not such a dick. Well, a different sort of dick, at the very least.
In this The Guardian interview the band B*Witched talk about 1998, just before they became famous, and what happened since. They recreate a publicity photo they did then.
I was a huge fan. Mainly of Lindsay Armaou. Still am. I had seen them about a year before their first single came out in something I happened to catch on video tape. I was struck.
