#SanFrancisco Superior Court #Judge rejects #Cupertino based #AppleComputer #legal efforts to stifle female #employee #lawsuit over alleged illegal #SexDiscrimination.

A female employee discovered a male colleague’s #TaxReturn form that showed him making $10k more for performing the same job title, a violation of California's landmark #EqualPayAct . Another #litigant hired a third party firm to investigate her #WageClaims and proved she was receiving less pay than male colleagues, and when Apple agreed to her raise, refused her any #BackPay for the years during which she was consistently paid less than men performing similar work.

The court found #Plaintiffs had sufficiently alleged that Apple’s #salary decisions were made in a centralized location pursuant to a #chauvinistic #employment compensation scheme that clearly perpetuates pay disparities due to #GenderBias.

The lawsuit could receive #ClassAction status as there are more than 12,000 female #APPL employees in #California potentially impacted by secret pact under ultimate leadership of #TimCook and cabal of other misogynistic policy enforcing execs.

#Plaintiff #legalteam include lawyers from three firms: Altshuler Berzon LLP, Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll PLLC, and Outten & Golden LLP.

@luckytran I don’t have difficulty seeing wearing glasses, but I have difficulty obtaining glasses if I don’t have enough money to have an eye exam and to then purchase the glasses.

This is way for them to say you’re not disabled if you can’t figure out how to take care of your health with $0 income.

I complain a lot about how it took me more than three years to get payments from the #SSA after applying for #disability.

But the more egregious problem is that when I finally was approved they moved my disability date from the date of the accident that caused it to the date I was able to start seeing doctors again once I obtained health insurance, so I lost a year and a half of backpay because they claimed I was not disabled because I was not under continuous care of a physician, because I had $0 income (because I was disabled) and I had no health insurance (because it was tied to the job I could not work).

Then once I was finally to obtain #Medicaid (after fighting with the state who claimed I wasn’t disabled because I might be able to work if I had spine surgery that I couldn’t have with $0 dollars and no insurance), it took a while to find specialists who would accept Medicaid. Then I had to sit on their waitlist and then wait for an appointment.

Once I was finally able to have that appointment then I was considered disabled.

They successfully avoided paying me approximately $21,600 in #backpay by doing that. And I let it happen because I was so desperate for regular monthly income I couldn’t even care about that.

So I just found out that General Convention passed a resolution in 2008 dealing with lay/clergy parity. In short, lay employees receive the same benefits as clergy. This is a good thing. However, I Just Found Out.

This has opened up a whole can of uncomfortable worms.

*screams & flails* My paid family medical leave just got approved!

I mean, I was on FMLA already. It was just unpaid due to stupidity on my HR mgr's part and ignorance on mine.

But now it's going to be paid...

...at least until 03/04/23.

Here's hoping for back pay! *fingers crossed*

ETA: There is back pay. OMFG. Of course, I still have to pay my company back my portion of my health insurance bill but hey, that's progress there! *cheers*
