Wow, watching Barry’s descent into to what I think is going to be a complete psychotic breakdown is some heavy stuff. It’s so odd that there are these moments of bizarre and surreal comedy. It just works so well though!

I’ve been wanting to watch the show #Barry since its first season aired, but I just didn’t get around to it, until now… holy shit, this shows is batshit insane! Somehow it is both extremely surreal while also maintaining a, sometimes uncomfortable, level is realism.

With its season 4, "Barry" closed the story. The first half is the "find out" part of earlier "fuck around," and the the second half is a variant of distant finale. There is no theme during the opening and the tone is generally more sombre. There are still a lot of funny moments and twists, but the reality caught up with characters' actions. And because it's a closed story, I can recommend it to anyone. A really good show.

Finished my binge and this show was unbelievably good.

Surrealist and silly, dark and horrific, and superbly well done at every stage. The whole thing was like taking a trip through the mad absurdism of someone slipping in and out of psychopathy, and the show handled the ludicrous over-the-top gruesomeness with the same deftness it did the nuanced touches on MeToo and creative culture.

Have to keep an eye out for what Alec Berg and Bill Hader do next.

I'm bingeing #Barry for the first time, and holy crap, season 2 episode 5 — the Taekwondo episode — is something else.

The whole show is amazing. A stupid premise — a hitman who takes a job in LA killing someone part of an acting troupe who then decides he wants to abandon killing and take up acting — done supremely well.

I saw someone call it a tragicomedy, and it is very funny, but it's also sublime television.
