I've been fucking around porting an old homebrew urban fantasy campaign to #BasicRoleplaying the last couple of evenings. As it's a nice distraction from political anxiety. Can't refresh the news if I'm writing. #ttrpg #NotDnD #MentalHealth

So for #freerpgday2025 I ran 3 public #ttrpgs games at the comic shop. For the kids #cyphersystem adventure teaming them w/ #ironheart for the adults and teens a #basicRoleplaying adventure in the world of the old school freelancers setting and this morning I ran. It always fun running games of my favorite systems đ #theExpanse #blerd
Somehow missed the chatter across the past few months that we were getting a new edition of #Runequest. Exciting stuff actually.
It being a bit crunchier than the rest of the #Chaosium's games has kind of caused me to focus on #CallOfCthulhu while I introduce BRP to my gaming group.
Kind of excited to get a new streamlined edition. I will click with it more. They will click with that more; I think. #ttrpg #NotDnD #BasicRoleplaying
Reading #GURPS #Atlantis by #SteveJacksonGames. One of the things I like about gurps #handbooks is that they're NOT just "lore" or fiction created jsut to pad the book. The first part of Gurps Atlants is a #primer on #PLATO and his #Republic. Then it goes on to people influenced by Plato, and then #theosophy.
There's even information of #Crete and the alleged #MinoanAge.

So, today's Time Travel session found ourselves finding cavemen where there should have been Babylonian civilization.
We soon discovered that we were next to the remains of an extinction level event crater where there should not have been one.
We returned back to the time of dinosaurs, fought a T-Rex, and found our alien friend and explained the problem.
Wisely, I'm sure, we convinced them to come forward in time to see for themself...
Forgot to post about our last session of our Time Travel game.
We started in the future, but soon found a new portal back to Babylonian times, where we found another portal that took us even further back to the time of dinosaurs.
Then we met the alien.
He was there to write a school paper on the local ecosystem, but had to wrap it up because of the big meteor that was supposed to impact in a couple days.
We headed back to Babylonia, but found things changed...
Had a long delayed Session of our BRP Time Travel game.
We started in the 1920s where the British military ordered us to prove that time travel is possible to clear our professor {Werner von Braun} of charges resulting from the events of the first session.
Things went wrong, resulting in a fight with British soldiers before we even left our time. After that we eventually ended up back in the future to research what our best course should be when we return to the 20s
New blog post on the Wongery: The Making of a Monster

(Which is not so much about designing a monster, but rather about all the things I have to do before I can put monster stat blocks up on the Wongery. Sorry if the title is a little misleading.)

6th Session of our BRP Time Travel game just ended. We spent a little more time in the year 2300 before finding a portal that ended up leading back to our own time in the 1920s.
It's apparent that our previous actions in the past had some effect on our present, but it's unclear yet whether they were a net positive or negative.
We are wanted for questioning concerning our disappearance, which has us a bit concerned. At least until we figure out what's changed.
I am an avid tabletop gamer, board games and ttrpgs. I prefer to GM ttrpgs, but also enjoy playing. I assist my wife in organizing tabletop gaming events in Northwest Arkansas. I read a lot of games and history, and a lesser amount of sci-fi and fantasy.
I have recently started messing around with hacking some RPG systems.
I'm currently running a #Torg campaign, playing in a #BasicRoleplaying game, and running one-shots for our monthly NWARPG Game Days.
5th session of our BRP Time Travel game yesterday found us stepping out into a Fallout like world circa 2300.
We were able to do everything needed to bypass the security on a food storage place, and get a farm up and running. This allowed the people we found to stop relying on a contraption that kept them alive, but hungry and unmotivated.
We also won a street race against a transformer.
All in all a fun time, despite my wife's bad luck with experience rolls.
I've made a clean version of the Stormbringer 5th edition character sheet. It's fillable and available in US Letter and A4 sizes.
Iâve been working on a post about some of the various RPGs based on the Elric/Eternal Champion works of Michael Moorcock.
One of the last official Elric games was Stormbringer, 5th edition. The last and sadly out-of-print RPG from Chaosium. It used the Basic Roleplaying system that games like Call of Cthulhu and Runequest use.
There isnât a PDF version available, so there isnât a clean version of the character sheet available. Iâve taken it upon myself to make my own clean fillable version. Iâve made both a US letter and A4 version.
