Frozen #hudsonRiver at #BeaconNY. Some kind soul shoveled a narrow path along the Klara Sauer trail which made the walking easier. Gorgeous afternoon, temps finally breaking above freezing for a few hours. Not thinking about the sub zero chill expected next week. Not thinking how the deer are ravaging my shrubbery. The days are ever so slowly lengthening and it will be spring before we know it.

From greenish, curved formation just along the shore to smoother white further out. Distant hills appear blue-grey. In the distance, the frozen, white river can be seen, all beneath a cloudless, impossibly blue sky.

An unexpected find! Today was cold and blustery. Snow & ice recently melted but the ground is still frozen. I wanted to walk out to #DenningsPoint but the trail is closed for the winter to protect nesting birds. Wandering around the back of the old brick works, I noticed a signs pointing towards an eagle viewing blind. After a short walk through the overgrown, former industrial marshland, I came across this shelter which offers a protected and safe place to view eagles. The American Bald Eagle was once nearly extinct in the #HudsonValley but they're making a good comeback. Will have to return with my binoculars one day.

A low-light image of a building with multiple bright orange-red doors contrasting against dark exteriors. In the foreground right, a brightly lit orange door is set into a grey-sided section of the building with white trim, accessed by white steps. To the left and in the background, exterior staircases lead to more orange-red doors on upper levels. The building is a mix of dark siding and some lighter sections, with railings and visible utility boxes. The scene is illuminated by the lights emanating from the doorways.

After a bitterly cold week, temps finally climbed to near freezing. Took a stroll along the Klara Sauer Trail in #BeaconNY along the banks of the #HudsonRiver Tomorrow, I'm sure it'll be full of city people coming up fo visit Beacon but today, I'm enjoying the solitude. Now off to pick up some delicious Palestinian takeout from #Ziatun and surprise my wife for lunch. Check out ziatun.com - highly recommended #FootpathFriday

A few photos from my walk at #DenningsPoint in #BeaconNY The skies were clearing after a dreary day yesterday and this morning and the sun was glistening just so off the calm waters of Fishkill Creek Bay. I enjoy coming here to take it all in and appreciate the ever changing character of the river. #HudsonValleyNY #HudsonRiver

An occasional dormant, naked tree stands nearby and the majestic bluish hiss on the distant shores lie beyond. A cold, late autumn sun shines above in a clearing blue sky with few whispy clouds.

Beautiful fall afternoon view of the Hudson River at Dennings Point in Beacon NY, looking south. A stiff breeze from the west whipped up many whitecaps on the main river; this photo shows the boundary to a more sheltered area of the river. #HudsonValleyNY #BeaconNY #HudsonRiver

Hazy afternoon hanging out with Lena the #GSD at Dennings Point in #BeaconNY The #hudsonriver is calm today. High altitude smoke from distant fires partially obscures the view of the #HudsonHighlands and #BannermansIsland to the south. I love coming here during the week when it's quiet. #DogsofMastodon
