বাংলার বিজেপিপন্থীরা মুসলমানদের বাঙালি বলতে চান না,'বাঙালি মুসলমান' শব্দবন্ধে তাদের বড় আপত্তি।অথচ,শ্যামাপ্রসাদের পর যে বাঙালিকে তারা আদর্শ মানেন(তাঁর লেখা না পড়েই),সেই বঙ্কিমচন্দ্রই বলেছেন "বাঙ্গালী মুসলমান" এবং তাদের বাঙালি সমাজের অন্তর্ভুক্তই করেছেন।

However, after Shyamaprasad, the Bengali whom they consider ideal (without reading his writings), it is Bankim Chandra who has called "Bengali Muslim" and included them in the Bengali society.
