Are there any small form factor (#SFF) #SBC with case, like the #NanoPi which support: 1. #OpenWRT (or other WiFI routing/networking software) 2. other #linux distributions (like Alpine Linux) and 3. has WiFi (preferably WiFi6, but any WiFi is better than none in this situation).
The #BerylAX seems like it may not be sufficient with 512MB RAM, but it is a pretty light weight small portable travel router.
If anyone is curious why, I could go into details in the comments.

@hynek by any chance, do you know if the Beryl AX has any brother that it is even better/upgraded?
I think I'm going to get one in preparation of a long vacation, and I want to make sure I don't run into "oh you should have bought this other one instead which is slightly more expensive but way better".
But of course, if you can wait one more month and don't need the portability of the #GLinet #BerylAX you should get the #OpenWrtOne instead ;-). As that one directly supports the #OpenWrt development with 10€. And also should have a bit more Wifi speed with 3 detachable antennas, has double the RAM and has this #MicroBus interface. (price Beryl in Germany: 80€, price OpenWrt One: 100€ which includes 10€ in direct support for OpenWrt)

And I'm happy that the upstream #OpenWrt support and therefore longer lifetime and tinkering options was mentioned. I've been using this device as a reliable #Freifunk router at home and on the go for a while now. And it has the same #11ax #WiFi6 chip from #Mediatek as the upcoming #OpenWrtOne router (though the latter uses 3 antennas?).

In #BerylAX dashboard you can easily change the name of a client device and its icon. I wish there were more customisation options, would be perfect if you could add bulbs, plugs, led strips instead of generic "Smart Appliances"
with #BerylAX you get built in DDNS on their own servers and configuring one cannot be simpler
