Ich benutze einen Archer c2600 mit #openwrt als Bridge, um Netzwerkgeräte ins WLAN einzubinden.
Seit dem Update auf OpenWRT 24.10.2 mit Kernel 6.6.93 und etlichen Backports aus der Mainline kann ich vermelden, daß die WLAN-Verbindung wie eine Eins steht und keine BEACON LOSS Fehler mehr aufgetreten sind.
Ein wirklich guter Release von allen beteiligten Entwicklern!

@kernellogger maybe that question also makes "more sense" if the person comes from an x86 world? Where devices can typically be discovered through probing. Where EFI etc. standardizes the booting process. While on ARM you typically have to "wire" them in through a DTS file. And have differing, hard-coded boot offsets in a u-boot config etc.
I wish the ARM+MIPS world would adopt some of the mechanisms from the x86 world. That would also make it so much easier to add device support in #OpenWrt.

Fortinet 傘下となった #Linksys が #OpenWrt を採用したルータで日本再参入とのこと。信頼性に重点を置いたハードウェアで OpenWrt を採用しているモデルは特に国内では珍しいので興味深い。OpenWrt は Linksys 製ルータの代替ファームウェアとして開発が始まったことを考えると感慨深い，かも。

@m @ffrl und der (mMn.) Hauptgrund, warum wir in Gluon kein LuCI haben ist glaube ich nicht nur wg. Speichermangel auf alten, billigen Routern. Sondern weil es da zig Einstellungen gibt, die man dann alle in einem Update berücksichtigen müsste. Dafür haben wir aber auf der Gluon-Entwicklerseite leider zu wenig Leute. Am liebsten wäre es mir, wenn #OpenWrt Container unterstützen würde und Gluon einer davon wäre. Da müssten aber noch Leute einiges an Zeit und Arbeit für rein stecken.

A new OpenWRT-compatible router came my way - it was a cast off router in a dusty box, about 7 years old. Is right up to date now with the latest OpenWRT. The wireless is slow - only 12MB/sec, but it has 5 GbE ethernet ports, which is pretty sweet in a free router.
