I don't have much interest in college football (except to see how the #CalBears are doing, which usually isn't all that great) but ex-Cal QB Mendoza's stock just went way up as the #1 draft pick for 2026 after Indian beat Miami in the college "championship" game 27-21 & after he was named the MVP of the game.
Looks like he made a really good choice transferring from Cal to Indiana. 😉

The #Steelers (10-5) are only behind 7-6 at the half in their #AFC #Wildcard game vs the #Texans (12-5) and, while I really don't care which team wins, I'm kinda rooting for the Steelers only because #AaronRogers is their quarterback (QB) and because he was the QB for the #CalBears (my alma mater) back in the back day LONG after I graduated from #Cal, even though I roll my eyes when I hear about his anti-vax & his #MAGA leaning rhetoric because I'm a pro football fan & Rogers has been a great NFL QB & almost certainly will be elected to the HOF after he retires.

The game didn't mean anything, except for bragging rights, but after going up 21-0 vs #Hawaii in the #SheratonHawaiiBowl in Honolulu, the Cal Bears blew the lead & Hawaii came back to beat the Bears 31-35 with a TD with only 10 secs left in the game.
Oh well . .
At Least the Bears made a bowl game & ended the season with a 7-6 winning record even with this loss SKP will be coming back next year to lead the team again.

If it happens, the odds are against Cal (7-5) vs #Hawaii (8-4) because Cal lost to #SanDiegoState & #Stanford & Hawaii beat both of them.
But, who cares??? If there's time, before or after the game, just hang out on Waikiki Beach & enjoy the view & I'm not talking about the waves. 😊

Today, the #CalBears are playing #Stanford Cardinals in the #BigGame & the #HarvardCrimson are playing the #Yale Bulldogs in their big game which they just call #TheGame.
I went to Cal (AB) & Harvard (MEd) but can't watch or record either game on TV because they are only being broadcast on PPV channels. ☹️

Update: Just checked & Harvard is getting it's 🍑 kicked. Yale is leading 28-45 with 11:45 left in the game. 🙄
#ESPN had #Cal as 9 to 1 underdogs to #Louisville but Cal won 29-26 in OT to improve their overall record to 6-4 (3-3 in the ACC) which keeps their hopes of a Bowl appearance alive.
Next up is the #BigGame vs #Stanford in Palo Alto on 11/22, as currently scheduled on ESPN. Time & media coverage TBD.

#Cal stayed close & still had a chance to win the game but they lost to #Virginia 31-21 after JKS threw a pass into double coverage at the Cal 35 with only about 34 secs left to play from Cal's 14 yd line which was intercepted for a Virginia TD to end the game. 🤦♂️
Cal (now 5-4 overall & 2-3 in the ACC) is off next week & play #Louisville in Kentucky on 11/18.

Cal was just ranked as #1 by US News & World Report in its annual rankings of publyc universities over #2 #UCLA.
Any ranking that places Cal over UCLA is always pleasing to a Cal grad regardless of their relative placement but that's another matter. LOL!😉
After taking a glance at the rankings, I was shocked to see how much it costs now to get a college education in America.
The annual in & out of state tuition (which of course does not include all other costs of getting an education) at Cal is $17,771 & 55,323!!!🤯
When I attended Cal, the cost of my then subsidized in-state tuition started at $35/quarter or $105/yr & ended at $135/quarter or $405/yr for which I am very grateful.🙏
Given the current cost of that education & the current lack of employment opportunities available to college grads, it's amazing that so many still want to get a college education & do go into a trade. 🤷
