Watching a 1940s #CharlieChan movie – whew, that's a racism-laden movie - product of its time I guess.
The Charlie Chan character played by a white guy with a ridiculous attempt at an accent being just truncated English phrasing.
Commendably, Chan's son is played by an actual Chinese American with no accent, but he just plays straight man to Chan's African-American driver who is a thick set of sad stereotypes.
