Chûn Quoit, a dolmen or chambered tomb high on the moors of West Penwith in Cornwall/ Photo taken from the west-north-west on 25 August 2003.

A colour photo of Chûn Quoit, a relatively small but well-preserved prehistoric chambered tomb on the moors near Madron and Morvah in West Cornwall. The side stones of the chamber lean inwards to support the roughly 3m square curved capstone. Remains of the stone cairn can be seen on the ground to the right. The grass is reasonably long and the moors can be seen stretching over the horizon. The sky is blue with a few white clouds.

A vintage photographic postcard showing sketches by Thomas Herbert Victor of Mousehole, of Lanyon Quoit and Chûn Quoit in West Penwith, Cornwall, both being prehistoric chambered tombs on the Penwith moors.

Have spent some days in the far west beyond the reach of mobile signal and being among things like this 👇

It's about 2km from home to #ChunCastle - the round trip is almost enough to the drain excess energy from puppy Jack.
This year's #silage bale fashion seems to be mint humbug. Field is just west of #ChunQuoit.
