Mighty pleased to be featured on the new season of the excellent #ClimateAmbassador podcast. Here's me having the craic with a verse of 'Oh Mother', the song they chose to include. You can hear it wherever you listen to your podcasts - you'll find me in episode 3, a thoroughly enjoyable conversation with Harrison Gardner of Common Knowledge 🌍

These are Ireland's stripes from 1901 to 2021, and we're getting hotter.

My #SomethingSmall pledge this month is to eat less meat - cutting it out just two days per week to start with, something I can stick to and build on. Even this will reduce my carbon footprint by approx. 471kg CO2e/year.

This restoration work is invaluable and very, very necessary. Although we barely made a dent yesterday, every little is a step forward. The wonderful work by the rangers, supported by volunteer groups like Mountain Rescue Ireland and ReWild Wicklow (and now, the Climate Ambassadors!), will hopefully make a real difference to this desolate landscape over the coming months and years.

Amazing day yesterday with An Taisce's #ClimateAmbassador Programme, learning about peatland restoration from the NPWS rangers in the #wicklowmountainsnationalpark We spread bracken and heather brash that had been airlifted to the top. Over the next year we'll hopefully see some mosses and heather start to grow in the brash and stabilise the surface a bit more. We also built dams to slow runoff and prevent the deepening of water channels through the peat.

Delighted to have been selected as an An Taisce #climateambassador for 2023. We had a great training day today in Dublin. Looking forward to lots of collaboration with the other ambassadors over the coming months! Find out more about the programme here: climateambassador.ie/

I can't say enough good things about the #ClimateAmbassador programme with An Taisce. Not only did I learn lots but they are the loveliest, most encouraging people who helped me to validate my ideas and find my own way into doing the work. I really believe #creativity can be an antidote to #climategrief, a vessel for exploring & deepening our connection with #nature, a tool for shifting perspectives from paralysis to empowerment, and a catalyst for action. So honoured to receive this award 🤍
