Robinson's book "Lessons Experimental Translators Can Learn from Finnegan's Wake" balanced on the edge of a large stone in front of SUB library, next to which, after a sizable gap, looms another big stone

Great quote right now - "Don't forget close reading (I'm begging you!)"
@ttasovac argues for #closereading as a "form of epistemic resistance and care"

"Guillory privileges close reading as an epistemological practice: Critics interpret texts to add to our store of knowledge. But in so doing, he makes another elision, here of aesthetics. Epistemology is, after all, only half of what makes a close reading work."

I’m a John Ganz fan, and I am trained in close reading. Very worthwhile if you don’t want to subject yourself to the actual books, which DT didn’t write himself of course. I prefer reading text to podcasts, and the article came in text form in the last issue of the Nation, but I haven’t figured out how to share it other than this link to the site. Ganz doesn’t mention the film The Apprentice, where Sebastian Stan’s performance illuminates these insights.
