Interupted my current nostalgia reading binge to try something newer. Turns out Anthony Doerr's Cloud Cuckoo Land was a very good choice. Last time I ventured into new pastures was R F Kuang's Babel and that was a good choice too.

Book 2: The e-reader recommended "Cloud Cuckoo Land," and I had some vague recollection that a friend had recommended Anthony Doerr, so got it. Read it. Loved it (for the most part).
My dad has been going back to his classical Greek in retirement, so I recommended ti to him. Turns out he had just finished Doerr's "All the Light We Cannot See," so that will likelly be next.

Anthony #Doerr's #CloudCuckooLand is hands down the best book I've read this year. It's a timely and tragically beautiful reminder of the fragility of life. The love and care with which #Doerr handles his material is breathtaking and evident at every level. CCL powerfully demonstrates what good literature can achieve and why we need it now more than ever.

Seeing lists of 7 #FavoriteBooks ..perhaps it's a function of age but I can't possibly narrow my list to 7! Favorite book of the past 6 months or so is definitely #CloudCuckooLand by Anthony Doer. Any other fans??
