My (catching-up) cocktail pie for August: Rusty Nail Galette.

A Rusty Nail contains Scottish whisky and Drambuie.

My pie is a Drambuie shortcrust galette with a honey-peach filling, topped with a butter whisky syrup.

The peaches are summery but the warm spices have helped make this one feel slighly more attuned to our present season!

Friday #cocktail: calling it an Old Orchard. Applejack and mulling spice syrup with a dash of Angostura bitters. I’m thinking this mulling spice simple is a winner.

#Cocktail - Clover Club #2

50ml Gin, 15ml Dry Vermouth, 20ml Lime, 20ml Raspberry Syrup, (optional) 15ml Egg White. Short hard shake, dbl strain.

Several variations based on muddled Raspberries, mint, added Dbl syrup. The key is Gin, Vermouth, Lime, raspberries and a bit of sugar.

#Cocktail - New York Old Fashioned

30ml Cognac, 30ml Rye, 3ml dbl syrup, 3 dash Angostura, 2.5ml Soda, built, Orange and Lemon twist

Everyone has there own way to build this super simple drink.

Tumbler in the freezer. Break out one of the large Ice spheres into the glass. Meanwhile assemble the drink in a mixing glass and cut the twists. Add 3 ice cubes swirl for 5-10 seconds, strain into the frozen tumbler. Twist. Drink.

Now you've got a cold tumbler with a big ice cube ...
