So, the big security message which Commbank put across everyone's account during the last month & forced everyone to click 'Agree' to get rid of so they could access their own money was a HUGE flop!! It amounted to nothing at all, less than nothing in fact, this is the first time I've ever had a scammer access my account, and it happened directly after commbank instigated this "you beaut new/greatest" security measure.. The scammers are laughing their asses off..
Apparently I was over in Pittsburgh overnight in a "rite aid" buying a few things on my card..... always lovely to see a scammer on your recent debits in your netbank account..... Cheers Commbank for completely missing the ball on that one.... dispute lodged, cards cancelled, and now gotta wait over a week for the new card to arrive, lovely...

I feel like the various phone & banking scams that are going around are making banks and companies move in the complete wrong direction, instead of simply introducing harsh penalties for scammers banks are targeting EVERY single customer with ultra high level surveillance on everything they do, and that's pissing off customers, infringing their rights & personal space, and making them walk away from these banks and institutions.
More banks in Australia seem to be resorting to behavioural security in lieu of secure multi-factor auth. Case in point, CommBank is using behavioural security on its website and apps. I'll do some research on this later but I have doubts on the real security that this offers. I also think that banks should be offering secure MFA to clients, at very least as an opt-in solution.
So, Commbank have started rolling this out today, notice there is no way to "Opt Out" of your biometrics being recorded by commbank nor is there any way to get rid of the message from your screen to access your account unless you click 'Accept', your account is essentially "Locked" by the message until you click 'Accept' at which point it disappears from the screen.
