But, in the meantime, their system has generated my "rightsholder" account hits against the BBC (for their own logo)

It also appears to display peoples addresses if Copytrack have them available - there's at least one private address listed.

Wieso ist COPYTRACK bei Google...

Over the past six months, a legal threat from a copytroll called Copytrack has been hanging over my head, and only recently did I find out the claim was closed. Normally, I don't post work-related stuff here, and I have been looking for a place on Mastodon to post tech posts. But for now, I am posting my advice here should anyone search for Copytrack.

Blocked #Copytrack. We have provided proof on every case successfully, and frankly Iʼm getting sick of their emails. If you have a case, then file it in a court, and weʼll provide the necessary proof in the statement of defence. Iʼm not going through our DVD archive for an automated bot, with questionable details about a copyright owner that was never party to the original licence.
Plus when I enquired with them to help us with a legit enquiry, I never heard back. Is this even a real firm?

To avoid overwhelming my timeline with numerous blog posts I can't stop making about Copytrack/WENN Rights International Ltd and their practice of weaponizing copyright complaints, even in cases where their clients may not own the content, I've created a single post that links to all of them.

I've updated this post with the entire email that Copytrack sent us (in pdf form). I also fixed a few of the image formatting issues. I was in a bit of hurry to get this up before heading out to my night job.
