And I hear the facility is planning on stopping the new locked-ward resident having a mobile phone.

These day's removing a person's mobile phone looks like acting to socially isolate them.

This does not appear to be consistent with maintaining existing skills nor with supporting the resident in maintaining friendships & relationships.

Both of these are, AIUI, effective in slowing the progression of dementia.
