My #dental future looks a bit uncomfortable.

In the next month or two I am going to have-

1 root canal, 3 wisdom teeth removed, and two bridges put in.

Then later some implants when I can afford it and have better insurance.

Though it'll be nice to not have my molars constantly in pain, and wishing I could take more ibuprofen.

Part of the reason I lost so much weight was from eating causing me pain.

Is it really in the interest of a health insurer to skimp on dental? Is an unhealthy client really a lower costs for the insurer in the long run?

Of course not, they fear the churn from clients taking all their dental work and then switching insurers to a cheaper one who doesn't cover it.

My idea to fix this is simple. When people switch health insurance, you give their new insurer the right to demand a 100% dental check or the equivalence in lump sum.
