A quick scan here (as I'm very much swamped irl at the moment) suggests I might be preaching to the choir here but #Canada's recent tragedy at #TumblerRidge is bringing the anti-trans brigades in full force in other social media spaces, so a quick reminder:
The #DSM has so many conditions listed within it that I would be genuinely surprised if any human on the planet *couldn't* be diagnosed with something in it. Whilst DSM stands for the Diagnostic and Statistical Mental Disorders, IMO it is much more useful to consider it an accounting/coding resource for things that cannot be explained by objective medical tests such as blood labs, #MRI, #CT, #XRay, etc.
Many conditions in the DSM require access to medical care and/or #Rx #medications, something that requires a #diagnosis to exist.
An example: #ErectileDysfunction
Here is an excellent overview of the many possible causitive factors, but the description of the condition? It all starts in the DSM.
