Die remasterte Version ist auch schwierig. Einerseits hört man die Instrumente klar differenziert, endlich auch die Bassläufe, die einzelnen Vokalparts sind besser separiert. Andererseits fehlt ein bisschen der Punch. #daytripper #dlf

Olen lukenut tämän graafisen romaanin seitsemän vuotta sitten, ja siitä lähtien se on pyörinyt satunnaisesti mielessä. Nyt lainasin sen kirjastosta uudestaan ja vähän jännitin, olisiko se niin hyvä kuin muistin. Olihan se. Kuvitus on todella hienoa ja tarina saa miettimään ihmiselon haurautta ja kauneutta.
Daytripperin päähenkilö on Brás de Oliva Domingos, joka kirjoittaa työkseen muistokirjoituksia sanomalehteen. Kirjan luvut kertovat aina jostain tärkeästä vaiheesta hänen elämässään, ja jokainen luku päättyy hänen kuolemaansa. Teema on siis memento mori, muista kuolevaisuutesi, mutta samalla se muistuttaa siitä, miten tärkeää on sitä ennen elää.
Kaunis kirja sekä tarinallisesti että visuaalisesti.

So I turned to Daytrippers, an old fave from long ago, not remembering the setting is Thanksgiving. A trippy family takes a trip to NYC to investigate whether the husband of one of the daughters is having an affair. Hope Davis, Liev Schrieber, Parker Posy, Anne Meara, et al.
