Insgesamt waren die Arbeiten der Jugendlichen unglaublich beeindruckend und zu großen Teilen sehr persönlich.

Auf dem hellen Boden einer Galerie liegt ein portraitfoto von Donald Trump.
Daneben ein Schild:" bitte betreten" und mehrere Beine in Jeans und Füße in Schuhen. Ein Fuß steht auf dem Foto.

Endlich wieder #Kunst: In den #Deichtorhallen gibt es eine Franz Gertsch Retrospektive. Die riesigen fotorealistischen Gemälde sind wirklich beeindruckend. Noch verrückter sind seine übergroßen Holzschnitte: tausende winzige, weiße Punkte, die ein großes Bild ergeben. "Jeder Punkt ist eine Sekunde meines Lebens," sagte Franz Gertsch.

Als Bonus gab es eine Ausstellung mit Fotos von Nan Goldin, David Armstrong, Mark Morrisroe und Philip-Lorca Dicorcia. Nan Goldins Werk kannte ich aus Laura Poitras’ biografischen Dokumentarfilm "All the Beauty and the Bloodshed". Es ist wirklich beeindruckend, diese Foto mal in groß zu sehen. Die Bilder der anderen drei Fotografen ergänzen das hervorragend.

Jubiläum: Die Deichtorhallen werden 35

Die Eröffnung wurde am 9. November 1989 gefeiert - parallel zum Mauerfall in Berlin. Seitdem gab es hier 318 Ausstellungen.

Seit drei Jahren wird das Haus der Photographie der Hamburger Deichtorhallen saniert. Eigentlich sollte es in diesem Jahr fertig werden.
