Completed the first-pass AN-SOF simulation for the ground-mounted Chameleon Antenna tactical delta loop antenna. It uses 1:5 hybrid feed, CHA Hub, two SS-17, 17’ telescoping whips and a 25’ clip-on top wire to complete the loop. The simulation details post is at: qsl.net/n8dmt/an-sof-tactical-

The (fairly) quick-and-dirty way to put up a delta loop that lets it resist quite high winds without guying - pretensioning the 10m (less top two sections) pole. Currently blowing around 35mph, no 'belly' wobbles around the middle. 🙏

Analysis of WSPR reception by VK7JJ of all UK stations making it across for an hour or so around long path time this morning. All SNR renormalised to 0.2W equivalent (the output I'm using). -34dB is the limit of detectability for WSPR. I think I can conclude my vertical delta (MW6PYS, top line) over marshy ground is a tip-top performer! 🙏

My beloved 20m delta loop, which has been in storage following our temporary move from the old QTH, is flying again this afternoon! Out at the marsh field shack, it hit 1.19:1 out of the bag (300 Ohm line to a 4:1). Now active as MW6PYS at 200mW, 14MHz. Not a trivial antenna to put up in 50km/h winds! Plot is last hour.
