Cardère Sauvage / Cabaret des Oiseaux (Dipsacus fullonum / Dipsacus sylvestris).
Le nom Cabaret des Oiseaux viendrait de la forme des feuilles qui se réunissent autour de la tige en formant une cuvette dans laquelle l'eau peut s'accumuler comme on le voit sur la dernière photo issue d'une observation plus tôt dans l'année, fin mai 2022.

#Teasel or #dipsacus fullonum in the garden, on a backdrop of other weeds. Apart from being a rich source of food for birds and insescts, the water colleccted by the lower leaves of this plant were historically used as a natural drug, and the dried flowers were widely used in textile processing.

A dry teasel flower leaning into the frame from the bottom left corner, gently backlit by the afternoon sun. Green foliage from owther weeds provides a beckdrop following that same direction, whil the upper left and bottom right corners falls in shadow.
