There IS courage out there! I'm on a county government mediators' roster, and we all received the following email from its administrator:

"Hello All,
We do a majority of our work remotely so this is hopefully an unlikely scenario, however, we have some updated guidance on how to engage if you are approached or contacted by an ICE agent requesting information on any of our clients.

If approached by ICE please DO NOT provide client information. The agent should have a warrant or other paperwork. Please accept the paperwork physically, take a picture or make a copy. Then please contact your coordinator or supervisor immediately. We will take the next steps by giving the paperwork to County Counsel for their educated response to the legality of the request.

For our contactors and staff who do in person work at the court please take extra care to keep this in mind. It is my understanding that in some instances courthouses are a target location. If this situation does arise and you experience challenges with agents accepting the process described above please call me and I will go to location to reiterate this policy.

Thank you all for your service and let me know if you have any questions."

This person is not a government official, not yet. And yet, is using a social media platform as if he were.

Federal employees are not safe. Their lives are being upended. And for what? The emotional tantrums of billionaires?
