The rivalry and antagonism between the two groups was deliberately stoked by the FBI’s COINTELPRO, or counterintelligence program. I’ve been reading toots and articles that say #Trump is asking people to investigate and report any “subversive “ behavior by their co-workers. It reminds me of when I had a routine #FBI interview at NASA (c. 2016) and they asked me, “Do you know of any people or groups who want to overthrow the US govt?” I was feeling pretty surly that day and
I responded, “Do you mean other than the Republican Party?” It was the closest I’ve ever seen FBI agents come to smiling, much less laughing out loud. They had to look away from me and each other to hold it together. I think they must go to school to master that blank, stoic look the FBI agents are famous for.
