On the back of the sleeve, there's a short comic strip and some screenshots from the game. And there's a novel of about thirty pages (all illustrations are by Michel Rho)

I will treasure this game 🥰

Like Captain Blood, it is a vinyl-sized sleeve in which documents and floppy disks can be stored.

I really like the cartoon-style design! 😀

I'm so happy to have this game back in my hands 😍 ❤️ ❤️

L'Ange de Cristal (Crafton & Xunk 2), a childhood game that my father bought on Atari ST and that I loved.

I'll post some more photos 🙂

J'ai commencé à feuilleter le magazine. Il y a des tests de Tetris, Nebulus, Super Hang-On et plein d'autres jeux.

Et cette preview de Kult ! 🛸

Je remarque pas mal de différences avec la version finale du jeu.

Galaxy map of the adventure game Captain Blood 🌌 ✨

Published with a guide in issue 15 of the French magazine Amstrad Cent pour Cent 🖥️

The map shows connections between inhabited planets. There are 49 of them.

The in-game version is truly faithful to the original composition! 🎵

I wonder who did the chiptune. Jean-Louis Valero himself? (or Philippe Ulrich?)

Did you know that the music for Crafton & Xunk was composed on the piano? 🎹

Composer Jean-Louis Valero has posted it on his YouTube channel:

I really like it! 😀

J'ai retrouvé l'interview la plus cool de Stéphane Picq 😀

C'était dans le Joystick n°61 (juin 1995). Par le journaliste Cyrille Baron (Moulinex).

Un entretien passionnant et instructif ❤️ 🍺

I notice that the only games I remember owning on Amstrad CPC date from 1984 and early 1985: Hunchback II, Alien 8 and Macadam Bumper.

At that time, there weren't many games available in France on this computer 🙂

Johan K. Robson (design), Patrick Dublanchet (code) and Michel Rho (gfx) each talk about their work on Kult.

We learn that a 200-page document was written and that the source code is 250 Kb! 💾

I found this 4-page article on Kult in the French magazine Atari! (May 1989)

You can see the sprites and also how the scenery elements were assembled 🧩

Cross-checking information from various sources, it seems that Kult was released in May 1989.

Prior to its release, it was named The Temple of Flying Saucers (which became the game's subtitle).

So, Kult celebrates its 35th anniversary this month! 🎂

🧵 3/

In issue 11 of the French magazine Generation 4 (May 1989), it was explained that the game would be released in early May (the music had not yet been added).

My longplay of Kult is perhaps the shortest ever done 😀 (15 minutes)

Knowing the plot helps a lot (if you've played it, you'll know what I mean 🤫), and I've also experimented quite a bit to achieve this result.
