Does anyone have comments on #accessibility for websites that are inherently first and foremost image-galleries?

I do put alt-texts there, but if the entire point of the site is to show of pictures, how useful is that really for someone who is blind?

I guess I don’t have too specific of a question, which indicates that I don’t even know what I should ask about or take into consideration.

I’m talking about stuff like this: A Page where I compare pictures I took in and around Kamakura (Japan) with stills from the anime Elfenlied to illustrate how similar they are. But if you can’t see (or just barely), what use would you get out of a site like that?

And to be very clear, this is not about justifying not to care, but about wanting to understand context.

Anime section is pretty amazing too, with several #HayaoMiyazaki movies, #PerfectBlue, #Frieren season one. #ElfenLied, surprisingly, too.

Today's #AniAnimal is Wanta from "Elfen Lied". This scene from the "Elfen Lied OVA' shows him living happily with the other characters at last.

This thesis-printing business keeps being a problem, but the print-shop now promised me that they will be able to deliver it barely on time…

Anyways, at least I like what is now hopefully, for real, the final version of my cover-art:

The picture is taken southward from the Sea-Candle on Enoshimal island, Japan and a substitute for my original idea to go with something based on the works of Gustav Klimt that is a reference to the Opening of the anime #Elfenlied. Sadly that didn’t work out (artist just suffered from ADHD and other issues all year) and I instead used a picture I took when I was on location and almost like it more, especially since it has depth to it, while still providing a subtle reference to one of, if not the, most important works of fiction to me, that I have ever consumed.

There were VERY few, if any, things in life that made me as overwhelmed with emotions and as happy, while I was still on T, as when I first visited the locations in which it was set, you can find the post I made back then here: https://ioc.exchange/@FJW/110149903182030155

It thus feels only appropriate to honor this work by putting a nod to it onto the cover of my thesis. 😊
