Alleine schon, weil die Anlaufkurve der Industrie in voller Fahrt ist und die Politik zumindest bei der Sicherheit Einigkeit zeigt.
Auf der anderen Seite stehen natürlich europapolitische Lawinen wie #FCAS oder #MGCS, wo man sich fragt, welches oder eher wessen Problem die eigentlich lösen sollen.

Perhaps democracies should consider rationalizing their plans and settle for a unified airframe design that can be mass-produced and equipped with mass-produced electronics and armament. The time isn't ideal for profiteering and IP masturbation.
I've previously suggested using the *existing* Korean #KF21 as a starting platform because we might not have *years* let alone decades to start building actual deterrence... 😬

I still don't get the idea behind the 6th gen fighter jet. How is the pilot supposed to interact with the drones and for what. What's the concept behind it? What kind of drones should those be? Drones with jet propulsion? What problems are they supposed to solve and what kind missions to execute? What makes them that much better than cruise missiles or a second plane to justify the development, production and maintenance costs of such a next generation fighter jet platform? And after all: wouldn't the pilot be overwhelmed by the need to coordinate his/her plane and the drone in parallel? Kind of like you need a crew of two for a fighter helicopter.
It looks rather like militaries and politicians around the world trying to guess what the next military technological leap might look like instead of developing proper tactics and strategies they actually can prognose to need in the future based on their possible adversaries' capabilities.
