My day started off with taking one of our ferrets to the vet since she's had some hair loss. Vet said that it looks like age and maybe some allergies, but mostly age and that so long as she's in good spirits and isn't showing any signs of insulinoma or pancreatic issues, it should be fine. (No indication of adrenal disease.)

So she got a little supplement and was VERY excited to be given some paste as a treat. (As soon as the tube came out, she was doing all kinds of cuteness.) Of course, everyone in the vet's office had to come in and see her. When they were checking her tummy, I held her front paws and got down face to face with her and they were like "oh no, the owner's gonna get bit" and Kivi just gave me some licks on the hand and one on the nose.

I'm sorry for any ferret they see that isn't one of ours because we know we've got special girls.

It was cool enough outside that I decided to pop into the nearby store to get some cherries, sushi, and ice and I felt okay leaving her in the car for the 10 minutes or so I'd be in the shop.

When I came out, she was standing on top of her carrier like "I'd rather ride home like this, thanks."

I had to explain that wouldn't be safe and she had to go back in. Which made me worst human ever.

Now we're home and I think I'm forgiven. Basti was very concerned at the reduction in small fuzzy roommates and was glad to see Kivi back where she is meant to be.

What a difference a year makes.. This is onyx about a year ago versus today. The hair loss from adrenal gland disease is getting worse and worse. I'm mostly worried about keeping her comfortable, I'm sure she gets cold. Her poor tail gets like ice.

Lily curled up in my hand. This was soon after the other two got up and started running around. Lily was in “five more minutes” mode. She usually starts off getting snuggles and scritches, and then she will suddenly jump up like a jack in the box and start running around. 😅 #ferrets #pets
