Toronto Today has been doing great local journalism π€© and I'm not just saying that because they covered our rally today π
Kathryn took the time to find and include the studies we were talking about.
I hope the businesses drop that lawsuit against the city. I'm not a lawyer and can't say what qualifies as a frivolous lawsuit, but it is trivially easy to disprove their claims.

Coverage by the CBC too. Four of our organizers delivered a letter to Stantec, reminding them of the engineering code of ethics. Stantec's engineers are making themselves responsible for the future traffic violence on Toronto's roads.

The action went very well! Hopefully I'll have some photos/video to share but in the meantime enjoy this incredible interview from one of the organizers π²

Ford is back. His threat to rip the heart out of Toronto's safe cycling network could be enacted as soon as this month. Tomorrow morning, March 18th at 7:30am we're mobilizing at Queen's Park to remind our representatives that we won't lie down while they tear up the safe streets Toronto is trying to build.

The Ontario government has βretained an engineering company to complete design work, as it prepares to reinstate vehicle lanes on Bloor Street West, Yonge Street and University Avenueβ.
The company is Stantec Consulting Ltd.
CycleTO is just a few supporters short of their mailing campaign goal!
Getting ready for today's rally? Consider adding an extra layer to your gear, we often ride slower which doesn't generate as much heat. Thick socks especially are a good idea.
If you have an insulated water bottle, you can use that to bring some hot water to help you stay warm.

I'm looking forward to another protest ride to keep our bike lanes! This one with Friday's For Future, we're going to ride from High Park to the MPP's office on Norseman St.
Tonight at work I saw 3 lanes of the 401 express closed in both directions, plus both directions closed on Markham Rd.
Doug Ford is trying to distract from it, but the congestion is the construction folks!

Getting ready for a lovely ride with the other cyclists in Toronto that are fed up with Doug Ford's overreach into city biz! It's chilly so bring your warm spirits β¨
#CriticalMass Friday, November 29 @ 6pm. Departing from High Park, Bloor entrance.

Doug Ford has passed Bill 212, but for me that's just the start of the fight. Honestly these large group protest rides have been some of the most fun I've had in years.
Next event is #CriticalMass Friday, November 29 @ 6pm. Departing from High Park.
34 days from introduction to passing. Doug Ford is a tyrant.

One last one before work, I'll be at the next Fight For Bikes rally at Queen's Park on Saturday November 23 @ 2PM!
We're meeting on the QP South Lawn and then after speeches, we'll be splitting into groups and riding along our bike lanes on Bloor, Yonge, and University while we've got them.
Doug Ford has heard the proposal to subsidize cargo traffic on the 407 as a gridlock fix on the 401.
He wants the 413 bypass because it enriches his donors that own developable land along its route, and because this taxpayer constructed hwy can then be sold to private investors to reap the benefits of tolling it.
He's hiding this behind the facade of removing bike lanes in a city his supporters hate visiting and would never live in. They're eating it up.
Over 80% of Bill 212 is about HWY 413 and its future as a tolled hwy.
Doug Ford is using removal of bike lanes in Toronto to distract his supporters from his plan to harshly fine and jail landowners along the HWY 413 that oppose it's construction.
Bill 212 also includes the mechanisms to make sure HWY 413 is equipped to support toll reader infrastructure.
Ben Durham discusses the bill in depth.

If you participated in the Fight For Bikes rally this weekend, the organizers are looking for more people to get involved! Boosts appreciated.
