@s1m0n4 S2 won't happen without Netflix since S1 ONLY happened because of Netflix. The domestic situation in SK made the show unairable for so long that Netflix was TVN's saviour for S1, if NF won't pony up for S2, it's safe to say it's dead given the state of #KDrama financing.
multi-season #KDrama w/ the ONLY exception in 13 years has been #ForestofSecrets, I loathe thw idea of getting invested and waiting for something that may never happen -especially if S1 ends by hinting at an S2

Drama Recs Challenge Day 3

At bsky, I used #KDrama #ForestOfSecrets for #DramaRecsChallenge Day 3, "a gripping thriller".

But that Drama is so exceptional it's going to be featured a lot, and already has been, so here at my preferred SNS home, a road less travelled.

This #TWDrama, MARS (note the caps) is an undervalued gem, recently getting some attention after the death of the FL from a pneumonial infection in her mid-40s

I was SERIOUSLY tempted to use #ForestOfSecrets for Day 1, but decided against it because it sets the bar exospherically high, and any who watch it as a first are in for some CRUSHING disappointments thereafter

Wading painfully on through #KDrama #UndercoverHighSchool because my completism has kicked in and I want them to find the damn gold, I'm struck again by what a HUGE difference a credible villain makes. The villain in this #KDrama is an absolute cartoon cliché and is impossible to take seriously. This means there's no menace when she's on screen, merely tedium. The contrast with the villain S1 of #ForestOfSecrets , so VERY well played by Lee Kyung Young , is huge. A real person, a real threat

@liztai Seriously, make room for both seasons. I watched it before Netflix picked it up which is why I always use the original English title (a literal translation of the Korean), but whatever you call it, it is OUTSTANDING TV. Also, I scored S1 at 9/10 , but S2 at 9.25 - THAT doesn't happen often for me. I am prepared to swear on the lives of the children I've never had that you would not regret bumping stuff from your PTW to make room for it. 😂 #KDrama #ForestOfSecrets

I watched it before I started studying Korean. It's a good #kdrama but I was expecting a bit of romance, so I was slightly disappointed by it.

@s1m0n4 As for the hagwon query, the key to my question was the phrase "opt out". Inspired by an article that said only 4% of Korean parents do. So, in the same way that the lead in #ForestOfSecrets CAN drink, but chooses not to, I thought it would be interesting to see a Drama where parents could afford to send their kids to hagwons but chose not to.

@s1m0n4 Well, THAT'S embarrassing! #ForestOfSecrets is not only one of my favourite #KDramas, it's one of few where I wanted a second season and the ONLY one where I slightly preferred season 2. So forgetting it in this context was unforgivably STUPID🤦🏼‍♂️
