Commissioner Alvaro Bedoya #FTC opens final #GPS23 keynote w/discussion of #LLMs, #AI. How do we deal with these new dynamics to protect consumers?

Four things:

1. #AI is Regulated!
2. Focused on the impact on regular, reasonable people.
3. Some of that law demands explanation. Inexplicability & unpredictability is not a defense.
4. Companies need to do much more to think about & be accountable for human impact of their products.

By the sound of it, the enforcement of the #DSA may become a free for all, with no harmonised supervision. All member states can decide themselves who should supervise, as long as cooperation with other supervisors will take place. Extra complex for EU-wide platforms! #GPS23
